About Me
Hi, I’m Tim Mallos.
I had a childhood steeped in the magic of animation, comics, the Muppets, Star Wars, and classic television. Add in the nostalgic glow of Super 8mm home movies and an early fascination with old time radio shows and you get an artistic journey that is deeply rooted in a fascination with expression communicated through diverse media.
Growing up with a woodshop teacher father and a mother in the sciences, I developed an early appreciation for both craft and careful observation, influences that clearly manifest in my playful and ever-evolving work. I frequently explore the whimsical worlds of robots, skeletons, and things with eyes, like people and animals. And robots.
It is common for artists to describe “working” in a particular medium. I enjoy “playing” with all kinds of materials, including wood, paper, light, acrylics, watercolors, pencil, ink, digital art, electronics, sculpture, and assembled objects with equal enthusiasm.
Ultimately, art is a form of therapy for me, a means to transform daily stresses into creations that amuse and interest me. I strive to imbue my work with humor, whimsy, and a touch of irony, hoping that viewers, especially fellow oddballs, will connect with the vibe. My art invites you to step into a world where the weird meets the silly, and every piece hopes to earn a smile.
